GST invoice, generated in your browser
Create a GST invoice in the browser: GSTIN, HSN/SAC, and CGST, SGST or IGST by place of supply. Nothing is stored. Then try RenBooks if you need books.
GST on a tax invoice
A GST tax invoice in India needs a unique invoice number, date, supplier GSTIN, a description of goods or services, HSN or SAC, taxable value, and the tax split. Place of supply decides whether you charge IGST or a CGST/SGST pair. That is a legal distinction, not a UI preference.
Intra-state supply (seller state equals place of supply) splits the GST rate in half: CGST and SGST. Inter-state supply uses IGST at the full rate. This tool does that split locally. It does not call a GSTN API and it does not file a return.
HSN (goods) and SAC (services) are classification codes. Using the wrong code is a compliance issue, not a rounding issue. We do not ship an HSN catalogue here. Enter the code your CA already uses. Rates (0, 5, 12, 18, 28) are yours to set per line.
GSTIN format is 15 characters. This page does not invent a validator that pretends to be the GST portal. If you need books, bank feeds and a live P&L, that is RenBooks. If you need receipt capture, that is Xpenzo. Tyre counters that also need stock and fitment should look at Tyren.
Keep this PDF with your own records. We cannot see it unless you use “Email me this result.” That path is a lead, not an archive. Confirm every number with a chartered accountant before you send the invoice to a customer.
Round-off, reverse charge, e-invoice IRN and e-way bills are out of scope. This page is a calculator for taxable value and the IGST versus CGST/SGST split. If your turnover or the invoice value requires an IRN, generate that in the government system your CA already uses. We will not pretend a browser PDF is a filed invoice.
Invoice questions
Do you store the invoice?
No. The form runs in your browser. Download the PDF on your machine. Emailing the result is optional and only sends the summary you choose.
When is IGST used?
When place of supply is a different state from the seller state. Same state uses CGST and SGST, each half of the GST rate on the line.
Is this a replacement for books software?
No. It is a one-off invoice. RenBooks is the books product if you need a ledger. Confirm HSN and rates with your CA.
