How to check a court case status
How to check an Indian case status on official portals, and how Lex can alert you when we integrate. We do not scrape government sites from this page.
How to check a case status
Indian litigation status is published by the court, not by a vendor. For district and most High Court matters, the public path is the official eCourts services (CNR, party name, filing number, or cause list). Supreme Court and some High Courts keep their own case-status pages. Start there. Bookmark the CNR. Do not rely on a screenshot from a clerk’s WhatsApp as the system of record.
A typical check: open the official portal, choose the court, enter CNR or party name, read the last order and the next listing. Cause lists change. Checking once a week is how listings get missed. That is the operational problem Lex is built for — hearing alerts and a matter file — not a replacement for the court’s own record.
Automation that hits government portals from a public marketing site is not something we will turn on without a clear permission. Terms of those portals, rate limits, and your own professional duties all matter. This page therefore has no search box that pretends to query eCourts.
Integration point (unused): src/lib/court-status.ts is the file where a permitted provider or official API would be called. It currently returns a “not enabled” result. Do not add a scrape here.
If a listing is tomorrow morning, check the official cause list tonight. Do not wait for a vendor email. When Lex sends an alert, treat it as a reminder to open the court’s own page. The court remains the system of record. We will not hide that behind a scrape that can go stale or violate a portal’s terms.
If you want alerts when we can do this lawfully, use the form. Intent is a product demo for Lex. You can also read the draft case study (noindex) and the eCourts outline post.
Court-status questions
Does this page look up my CNR?
No. There is no live government search here. Use the official eCourts / High Court / district portals. Lex is the product that can alert you when we integrate.
Will you scrape eCourts for me?
Not from this public tool. The integration point below stays unused until you confirm it is permitted.
What does Lex do today?
Lex is our court-tracking product for Indian firms. Read the product page for the live feature list. We do not invent alert counts.
